personal_radiation_detection_devices_radiation_probe_for_hawk_ems_environmental_monitoring_system_1320-AO
   Description:
The probe detects ionizing events and transmits pulses to a data logger or other computer. The radiation levels are measured in counts per minute (CPM). A background count is normal due to naturally occurring sources both terrestrial and celestial. Generally 25 to 100 CPM is considered typical depending on location and environmental factors. With the presence of increased ionizing radiation the count rate will increase accordingly.

If a count rate is very high or exceeds 20,000 CPM for example it may be necessary to apply a dead-time correction in the program of the computer or data logger. Dead time is 136 μs. When using the probe to detect low levels of unusual ionizing activity dead-time compensation will not be a concern.
   Applications:
•  Industrial Facilities
•  Scientific and Research Facilities
•  Building Entry Points and Perimeter Security
•  Nuclear Power Plants
•  Oil and Gas Drilling
•  Medical Facilities
•  Homeland Security
•  Community protection
•  Customs and Border Security
•  Shipping Ports and Harbors
•  Monuments, Stadiums, Arenas, and Convention Centers
    Features:
•  Wall or tripod mountable
•  Probe can be mounted nearby or set up several thousand feet away from the control module either indoors or outdoors
•  Can be used with the Hawk EMS® System or other computer
•  Optional output to control external devices when an alarm occurs
•  Suitable for industrial and security applications
